Our individual counselling services are designed to help you overcome personal challenges and achieve your goals. It is my goal to provide a supportive and non-judgmental environment where you can explore your thoughts and feelings, gain insights into your behaviour, and develop strategies for positive change. As an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker, a treatment plan can be developed to include evidence based treatment strategies relevant to your goals.
Parent/Caregiver sessions can help you improve communication, resolve conflicts, and build a stronger relationship with your children. Whether you are facing challenges related to communication, building stronger connections, managing tricky behaviours, or other issues, I can help you work through them and achieve greater satisfaction in your family relationships. These can be accessed as a single session to work on one particular challenge area or as a series to generate deeper reflection on your family struggles.
Family counselling sessions are designed to help families connect and overcome challenges related to communication, conflict, and other issues in a playful way. Sessions are carefully planned to identify strengths and weaknesses, improve communication and problem-solving skills, and develop a stronger sense of cohesion and support.
The child and adolescent sessions are designed to help young people overcome a range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, behavioral issues, and more. I use evidence-based techniques to help children and teens develop coping skills, improve self-esteem, and achieve greater success in school and other areas of life.
Trauma focussed sessions are designed with recovery in mind so you can start get back to living a full life. I use a variety of evidence-based techniques to help you process the traumatic memory, develop coping skills, strengthen support network, and achieve lasting recovery.
Need a support but not able to meet here at the office... No worries! Telehealth may be the option for you.
These sessions are available for professionals in the mental health and community sector who would like to access external support and a creative perspective on current systemic and practice challenges.
No client is the same, and so treatment plans need to be tailored to meet the unique needs of each person. Some of my approaches include:
I am trained in a range of evidence based treatment strategies which may alleviate many mental health struggles. As part of your mental health plan, treatment may include psycho-education, motivational interviewing, cognitive-behavioural interventions, relaxation and skills training (such as problem solving, anger management, social skills, communication, stress management, and parenting support).
This is a structured technique used to resolve issues with trauma, anxiety, mood disorders, substance use, depression and more. It can reduce the need for clients to explain their traumatic experiences by working directly with the brain's natural capacity for reprocessing information. This means that thoughts, emotions and body sensations can be targeted in treatment for quick and effective reduction of symptoms. This modality has suitability for many clients; including infants and young children who have been exposed to traumatic experiences. This technique has many other applications apart from trauma including increased capacity for future behavioural changes, managing addiction, or even weight loss.
I have completed trainings across a wide range of Play Therapy Methods which include:
As play is the natural communication of the child, Play Therapies are frequently integrated with many other psychological therapies such as EMDR, family therapy, narrative therapy, CBT, ACT, DBT, and focussed psychological strategies relevant to mental health recovery.
-Sandtray
-Trauma Informed Expressive Arts
-Movement for Trauma
-Small Figures work (based on Psychodrama Principles)

'A Little Room to Breathe' is proud of its connection to Dja Dja Wurrung country. A place which has inspired a sense of awe, playfulness, mindfulness, and creativity.
I offer my heartfelt gratitude to the traditional custodians and elders (past, present, and emerging) for continued opportunities to learn, reflect, and grow.
I recognize the vibrancy of culture which emanates from our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities; as well as their strength which continues to withstand the atrocities of colonisation.
